Though there is little evidence that they spread disease, adult fleas do carry bacteria and they are still blood sucking insects who live off warm-blooded animals. During the larval stages, fleas live in the nest of the host, feeding on skin and feathers. Flea bites can cause intense irritation to livestock and poultry, which in turn can cause stress related issues and ultimately severely effect production.
